RCM:MT

Whilst a student at the Royal College of Music, Jude co-founded the first ever group championing Musical Theatre at the College. Their work included hosting masterclasses, workshops and showcasing repertoire from the MT canon, played and sung expertly by the RCM's singers and musicians. Below are the RCM:MT productions that Jude conducted. (Featured artwork by Jude's trusted visual collaborator, Louise Richardson.):

The RCM noted the groups' commitment to the form, and as a result, granted use of the iconic Amaryllis Fleming Concert Hall for RCM:MT's productions. The Masters of America and Beautiful Mornings & Enchanted Evenings featured the 40-piece RCM Musical Theatre Orchestra.

Stockton University, Composer Jude Obermüller as Musical Director

ARTIST IN RESIDENCE / Into the Woods

David Reiser, head of the brand new Musical Theatre department at Stockton University, invited Jude to be the Resident Musical Director for the first half of 2017. Jude visited the campus in Atlantic City, NJ twice a week. There, he worked very closely with Prof. Reiser's inaugural BA class on everything from repertoire, acting through song and the history of the form - to ensemble performance, musicianship & sensibility, and the future of the form. Jude's engagement culminated in a production of Into the Woods (dir. David Reiser) - offering the students the opportunity to rigorously apply the skills they had worked hard on developing under Jude's guidance.
